It is important to explore the existential coaching literature with regards to the coach’s roles. Existential Coaching starts from an existential-philosophical anthropology, which sees the human being as a dialogical being who is directed towards the world and its concrete questions and demands. In the centre of the theory are the terms like existence, trust, values, decidedness, fulﬁlment and psychology. Within existential coaching discussions, Spinelli (2008b) argues that the boundaries between coaching and therapy are becoming more and more “fuzzy” (p. 248). He highlights the importance of immediacy in the coaching relationship, and the use of the coaching relationship as ‘the primary instrument’ (2008b p. 247).
