Anorectal manometry is a test that measures how well the rectum and anal sphincter are working. The anorectal manometry test is commonly given to people who have fecal incontinence, constipation and Hirschsprung's disease in children. Anorectal malformations (ARMs) are among the more frequent congenital anomalies encountered in paediatric surgery, with an estimated incidence ranging between 1 in 2000 and 1 in 5000 live births.
